  • "Print Until You Puke: 1"
Or "Print Until You Cry: 1"
  • Finally a little bit more comfortable with lithography, I decided to aim quite high and tackle a huge reductive composition. To make a very long story short, I ended up learning a lot about the drawing/scratching a stone, application, processing, ink, rolling up, and printing. I wouldn't trade the experience for the world. I ended up with a slightly smaller image, but I'm in love with it. I used a photo reference of a candy stand I encountered in San Luis Potosi, Mexico.
  • Beginning stages of the reductive drawing.
  • Completed "drawing"
  • Detail of stone: aluminum, plastic, and candy
  • Detail of stone: plastic wrap
  • Detail of stone: male figure, tarp, light sources, brick, candy, plastic
  • Detail of stone: backlight, plastic, female figure, more gestural marks
  • The wash-out stage!!
  • Traditional paper towel print
  • Final image on Rives BFK. In the end, it is a reductive drawing, printed, scanned in, transferred onto the stone, drawn on more with autographic ink and crayon, AND more scratching!
  • Final product!
